Founded by legendary coach Dennis Van der Meer, the Van Der Meer Tennis Academy has long been recognized as a global leader in tennis education. Known as the “Pro’s Pro,” Van der Meer transformed the sport’s teaching standards and trained more players and coaches than anyone in tennis history. His legacy continues to inspire the academy’s world-class staff and training philosophy.
Located on Hilton Head Island, the academy features two premier facilities: the Van Der Meer Tennis Center and the Shipyard Racquet Club, offering a total of over 30 hard and clay courts, including indoor and covered options—the only ones of their kind for hundreds of miles. Players benefit from top-tier instruction, professional-level amenities, and easy access to beaches, accommodations, and recreational areas.
