Cincinnati Tennis Club

Founded in 1880, the Cincinnati Tennis Club (CTC) is one of the oldest tennis clubs in the United States and the second oldest west of the Allegheny Mountains. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Club combines deep tennis heritage with a vibrant, active community.

Facilities & Play

CTC features 10 outdoor clay courts and a charming, historic clubhouse with a large covered porch — open annually from mid-April to mid-October. The Club embraces the classic tradition of all-white tennis attire, with no court fees or reservations required. Members enjoy leagues, team play, lessons, drills, and social tennis in a friendly, competitive atmosphere.

Heritage & Legacy

The Club has hosted major events such as the Tri-State Tennis Tournament, the USTA National Father & Son Clay Court Championships, and even a Davis Cup tie in 1952. Many renowned players — including Tony Trabert and Nat Emerson — have graced its courts, helping shape Cincinnati’s tennis legacy and influence the development of the sport in America.
