Founded in 2002 by coaches Jack Newman, Eric Schmidhauser, and Doug Davis, the Austin Tennis Academy (ATA) is dedicated to helping junior tennis student-athletes reach their full potential on the court, in the classroom, and in life. Located in Austin, Texas, ATA is built on a culture of excellence, integrity, and community impact, striving to develop not just champions, but “citizens of significance.”
ATA offers comprehensive year-round programs including junior development, academy training, private lessons, and a fully accredited private school (ATA College Prep) for grades 5–12. Every player benefits from a personalized approach that emphasizes technical mastery, mental toughness, academic achievement, and character development.
Beyond tennis, ATA is deeply committed to giving back—raising over $2 million in scholarships and supporting international humanitarian projects through partnerships like A Glimmer of Hope in Ethiopia.
