About Us
Tennis Manitoba is the provincial governing body for tennis in Winnipeg and across Manitoba, working under the umbrella of Tennis Canada. The organization oversees competitive and recreational programs for players of all ages and skill levels, from junior development through senior play. Tennis Manitoba operates multiple facilities including hubs at Deer Lodge and West St. Paul, along with partnerships at community centres like Corydon Community Centre and Norwood Community Centre, which offer both indoor and outdoor tennis courts.
The organization runs a comprehensive range of programs and tournaments, including junior competitive and recreational streams, provincial team tryouts for U13-U18 players, and the Prospect Program for younger athletes. Tennis Manitoba provides access to certified coaches through its Coaches Corner and maintains quality standards for junior tennis instruction. The West St. Paul Access Centre and other facilities support year-round play, with programs adapting to seasonal conditions and utilizing specialized equipment like shorter racquets and low-compression balls for junior players. Courtside Racquets, an affiliated pro shop, offers equipment, apparel, and stringing services to members.
