Located in the heart of Ewell Village, Surrey, the Ewell Castle School Tennis Academy combines elite-level tennis training with a tailored independent school education for pupils in Years 5–13. Entry to the programme is by selection and trial only.
Currently ranked #1 school tennis academy in Great Britain (as of July 2025), Ewell Castle offers one of the UK’s leading integrated academic and performance tennis environments.
The Ewell Castle Tennis Academy provides:
A fully funded coaching programme for accepted tennis scholars.
Individualised training plans including technical, tactical, match play and strength & conditioning sessions.
Tournament planning and performance tracking, with individual goals set for each player.
Access to high-quality education with flexible timetables to accommodate training and competition schedules.
Academy scholars are full members of the school community, studying core subjects (English, Mathematics, Science) with curriculum adjustments made to support their sporting commitments.
The academy has produced outstanding results and players, including students who have earned ATP world ranking points and secured tennis scholarships at top U.S. universities. Ewell Castle teams currently hold several national and international titles, including:
18U & 13U LTA Schools National Champions
ISF 15U World Championships Silver (Doubles) and Bronze (Singles)
ISTA 19U & 15U National Champions
The programme is directed by Tom Burn, a former ATP world-ranked player (career high 550) and former coach to Wimbledon finalist Eugenie Bouchard. He leads a highly qualified coaching team including Ross Sheppard and James Beavan.
