About Us
Loughborough University National Tennis Academy (NTA) represents the pinnacle of British tennis development, combining world-class coaching, cutting-edge sports science, and elite academic support within one of the UK’s top university environments. Proudly named the 2024/25 LTA University of the Year, Loughborough Tennis provides a complete pathway for players of all levels — from recreational participants to ATP/WTA professionals — to train, compete, and excel.
At the heart of the program is Loughborough’s Performance Tennis pathway, offering a high-performance training environment supported by an expert interdisciplinary team. Players train alongside national and international athletes, gaining access to strength and conditioning, performance analysis, sports psychology, and competitive opportunities that prepare them for success on the professional circuit or within the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) leagues.
The Loughborough Students’ AU Tennis Club features over 100 members across six men’s and five women’s teams, providing a vibrant and competitive atmosphere. Development and recreational players enjoy up to eight hours of weekly training, internal and external tournaments, and access to the university’s exceptional facilities — all while being part of a strong, inclusive tennis community.
The academy also integrates Para-Tennis, offering tailored coaching and training opportunities for athletes of all classifications and performance levels, reinforcing Loughborough’s commitment to accessibility and excellence for all players.
